TU 46 is a sequel to the game TU 95 from the flash game maker, Armor Games. The game simulates the experience of flying a 1970s aircraft. In the game you get to fly brand new passenger aircraft out of the city of Tupolev. You deliver your passengers from Tupolev to six different countries. Along the way it is possible to get upgrades improving your planes’ stability.
The controls of the TU-46 are fairly complex, when compared to the typical flash game that most players are used to. The up and down buttons control acceleration of the plane. The plane banks left or right with the left and right buttons. The engines of the plane start up with a push of the I key (for initialization). The G key allows you to put the landing gears up or down. A push of the F key changes the position of the flaps.
Space Bar will turn the plane 180 degrees, allowing you to fly back the way you came. The E key shuts off the engines (E for Extinguishes). If a flight is long and you are getting bored, you can push the Z key to speed up the game play by a factor of 16. The M key will mute the game sounds. Finally, the P key pauses the game. As you can see, there are numerous controls to get a handle on. However, as complex as it may seem within a few missions the controls will become second nature for most players.
Some of the controls are more important to get a handle on than others. The flap key is the most important key to remember, because having it in the incorrect position can cause a crash on both landing and takeoff. Also, don’t forget to hit the G key after takeoff. Flying with thee landing gear down will make the plane much more difficult to control.
The game is lot of fun to play. However, it is not the kind of game that players can sit down and play when they have a few free minutes. This game is complex and time-consuming. That makes it very interesting, but it also means that you will need to commit a substantial chunk of time to play it. Figure on spending at least an hour or two on playing the game.
Work on perfecting landings and takeoffs, as they are the challenging parts of the game. Master them, and you will be well on your way to creating your airline empire.
